Hyperbole

allisonweiss:

It is kind of embarrassing when a person hears a song you wrote about them and gets the wrong impression that you’re a really intense person, when in actuality you’re pretty normal, it’s just that singing something like “You’re all I’ve ever wanted” has a better ring to it than “You’re pretty cool and I like you enough to want to date you at least for a little while unless it doesn’t work out, which is totally fine.”

What about if the song about him was in the vain of not really wanting to date but instead just keeping him in the backroom to fuck around with then killing them when you’re finished? Yeah… he’d probably get the wrong impression.
